Nitnem is a reader for daily Sikh prayer (Nitnem) on iPhone and Android. Japji Sahib, Jaap Sahib, Tav Prasad Savaiye, Chaupai Sahib, Anand Sahib, Asa Di Vaar, Sukhmani Sahib, Rehras Sahib, Ardaas, and Sohila Sahib are included in the app. This policy describes what both apps do with information.
Information the app collects
Nitnem does not collect personal information. There is no account, sign-in, or profile. The app does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, or location.
The bani text is part of the app and is read on your device. The app does not send what you read to us or to anyone else. Text size, the last place in each bani, whether the screen stays on while reading, whether the reading page is light or dark, whether the letters are joined (larivaar) or separated (pad-ched), and the auto-scroll speed are saved on the device. They are not sent anywhere. If the last line is on screen when you leave a bani, that saved place is cleared so the next open starts at the top. The app does not keep a list of what you read beyond that place.
Rating and feedback
Rate this app opens the store’s own rating screen. On Android that is this app’s Google Play listing. On iPhone that is Apple’s review sheet. Nitnem does not receive the rating.
Send feedback opens your mail app with a draft to contact@runcan.ca. The draft includes the app version. We see that message only if you send it. If no mail app can open, Android shows the address on screen, and iPhone copies the address to the clipboard.
Internet, ads, and analytics
Nitnem does not connect to a server of its own. Reading stays on the device. The app has no advertising and no analytics. It does not use third-party trackers. Tapping Rate or Send feedback can open Google Play, Apple’s review sheet, or your mail app. Those apps follow their own policies.
Apple distributes the iPhone app through the App Store. Google distributes the Android app through Google Play. Each store’s own policy applies to your store account and to downloading or updating Nitnem. That is separate from this app.
Children
Nitnem does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
